Seventy monks received full ordination (“Gelong” vows) at Namdroling Monastery, receiving them from His Holiness Karma Kuchen Rinpoche in a series of ceremonies (as only three monks are permitted to receive at a time). These took place over two days, commencing on Friday, 6 April, 2012. In accordance with Namdroling Monastery tradition, the ceremonies were performed privately and quietly, starting on both days at 7:30 AM and concluding in the evening at approximately 6 PM. They were conducted in the Ordination Hall, which is located on the second floor of the Main Temple (the “Golden Temple”), at the front side.

And on Saturday, 7 April, Khenchen Pema Sherab Rinpoche has started to confer novice ordination, Getsul vows, to 110 monks. This ceremony will go on till all 110 receive the vow. At both levels of ordination, the majority of those who took vows are from the Shedra (Buddhist College) at Namdroling.
